Korean MMA’s KMMA to Showcase Talent in Japan, Announces Upcoming Domestic events
Osaka, Japan – Three fighters from Korea’s rapidly developing amateur mixed martial arts organization, KMMA, are slated to compete at Osaka Gladiator 032 in September 2025. Kwon Ji-hoo, Kim Ji-kyung, and Park Hwa-rang, all representing the KMMA Fighter Agency, will participate in the event, aiming to expand their reach on the international stage. Park Hwa-rang recently competed in a KMMA flyweight challenger match and will face undefeated fighter Keigo Iwasaki.
KMMA,founded in October 2022 by UFC commentator kim Dae-hwan and commentator Jung Yong-joon,provides a platform for domestic amateur fighters to gain experiance comparable to overseas competition. The “Popeye Union Member KMMA Fighter Agency” operates uniquely by not charging fighters any fees, rather relying on sponsorship support, primarily from Popeye Union Member. KMMA further supports its athletes by taking only 10% of fight fees and bonuses earned when they compete in major Japanese organizations like RIZIN or K-1.
Chairman Kim Sung-bae stated,”We will support Korea to promote and play an active role in mixed martial arts to the world.” Dozens of KMMA fighter agents, including RIZIN’s Shim Yu-ri and ACF’s Moon Hong-beom, are currently active in both domestic and international competitions.
KMMA receives support from sponsors including OPMT, Manjane, Mountain Miseong Pork Soup, FILA Dongseongro Branch, Hands Coffee Daegu Downtown Branch, Dongseongro Cartoon Cafe Golbang, Kingdom Jiu-Jitsu, Dojang Insurance Team, Vitalmu Love Jiu-Jitsu, Menpower Urology Department, Advide, Final Flash, Chador, Live On Media, Circle Cookie, Ilmere Dam, and Advide.
