## Kirk‍ Franklin’s Son Says He ​Was ‘Beat Black and⁢ Blue’ Growing​ Up

Kirk Franklin’s eldest son, Kerrion Franklin, alleges he experienced meaningful physical abuse⁣ during his childhood.‌ He‌ recently shared graphic photos ‍of ⁤scars on his back alongside a detailed message on‌ Instagram, recounting trauma and wounds from his early years.

Kerrion franklin Speaks ‍Out

Kerrion‌ Franklin posted on Instagram ⁣that the scars are⁣ evidence of‌ abuse dating back​ to frist grade, writing, “These scars all over⁣ my back⁣ are⁣ not‌ sex stories… being​ beat black and blue as 1st grade.” He ⁢stated that pain, rather⁣ then laughter, characterized ⁢many of his earliest memories.

He described the adults responsible as‌ having “enjoyed expressing ​rotten Rage ⁣in‌ many ways ⁣as⁤ (punishment/Consequence)” and noted a lack of compassion. The post indicated the ⁣abuse involved multiple caregivers while his ⁣parents were occupied, with Kerrion stating, “These ⁣scars ​are⁢ the only memories I ⁢have of my‌ childhood.”

In a statement from ‌2021, Kirk Franklin publicly denied any physical abuse, saying, “there hasn’t‌ been‍ any ⁤physical abuse.” He apologized that same year for a profanity-laden‍ recording that leaked, in which he appeared to threaten ‌his​ son.

Kerrion Franklin told interviewer Larry Reid in 2021 that, as a‌ child, ‌he was often left in the care of ‍others⁣ while his father focused on ⁤his career. He explained, “As a kid, right? ‌My dad was focused on⁤ becoming his best self… so I was​ babysat by a lot ⁣of people… and that kind⁢ of put​ me in some… unfortunate, rough‌ situations.”

The Instagram post has generated‍ controversy, with some fans expressing disbelief and​ others calling for professional help. Kirk Franklin has since emphasized‌ his love for Kerrion in ⁣interviews, describing their relationship ​as a process of misunderstanding and healing.

Neither Kirk nor Kerrion Franklin has ⁣released self-reliant documentation, such as medical ⁤records, for public review. Experts in ‌child‌ welfare note‍ that social media claims can⁣ prompt investigations, but legal proof is typically required.
