Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Launches First Expansion,”A Painter’s Inspiration”
Warhorse studios,the Czech game developer,is releasing the first of three planned expansions for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 today. This initial installment introduces a new side storyline complete with additional quests, promising to enrich the player experience in the past role-playing game.
Players can acquire the expansion as a standalone purchase. Alternatively, it is available at no extra cost to those who own the Expansion Pass or the Golden Edition of the game.
A Glimpse into the Bohemian Paradise
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 immerses players in the early 15th century, a period marked by the political rivalry between Wenceslas IV and his brother Zikmund. This sequel unveils the landscapes of the Bohemian Paradise and the areas surrounding Kutná Hora, offering a rich and detailed historical backdrop.
The new expansion centers around Henry of Skalice’s encounter with a mysterious painter. This artist seeks inspiration to create a masterpiece that will secure his place in history.
Shield Painting and Coats of Arms
The new storyline becomes accessible once players reach the Castle of Trosky within the main game’s narrative. Future Expansions: What’s on the Horizon
Warhorse Studios has outlined plans for two additional expansions:
- Legacy of the Forge: Slated for release in the autumn, this expansion will delve into Jindřich’s early life in Stříbrná Skalice.
- Mysteria Ecclesiae: Expected in winter, this expansion will task players with investigating mysterious events within the sedlec monastery, involving the local Cistercian monks.
Sales Success and Future Expectations
Warhorse Studios launched Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in early February. Three months post-release, the company reported selling approximately three million units. The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance sold ten million copies over seven years.
The developers anticipate that the new expansions will reignite player interest. They also express confidence that the sequel will surpass the sales figures of the first game.
The developers have already said that the most are usually sold by the most after the release and over time the interest is declining. However, the new extensions can then increase the interest of players again. Warhorse Studios also expects that the number of copies of the second episode of the number one Kingdom Come will overcome.
