Kew Gardens’ annual Orchid Festival will return on February 7, 2026, transforming the Princess of Wales Conservatory into a vibrant display inspired by China’s flora and design traditions. The festival, marking its 30th anniversary, will run until March 8, 2026.
This year’s event focuses on the remarkable biodiversity, heritage, and design traditions of China, filling the glasshouse with a dazzling array of orchids and large-scale floral installations. Visitors will be able to wander among dragons, lanterns, and intricate plant sculptures designed to evoke the beauty and wildlife of the country.
The festival aims to celebrate not only the aesthetic beauty of orchids but also the importance of plant conservation and global collaboration, highlighting Kew’s scientific work. Opportunities to experience the festival after dark will be available through a series of “Orchids After Hours” events.
Kew members will have exclusive access to the festival during dedicated time slots, from 10:15am to 11am daily and from 11am to 4pm every day. Membership cards and identification will be required for entry during these times. Standard entry to the Gardens is included with admission to the Orchid Festival, but visitors must book a specific time slot to enter.
The Orchid Festival coincides with an exhibition of works by Henry Moore, titled “Monumental Nature,” offering visitors the opportunity to experience both displays during the same visit. Kew Gardens is encouraging visitors interested in seeing both exhibits to consider becoming members for unlimited access throughout the year.
