kevin Owens Celebrates Inaugural Green Mountain Wrestling Championship with video Message
Vermont’s Green Mountain Wrestling launched its ‘Green Mountain Classic’ event yesterday with a surprise video appearance from WWE Superstar Kevin Owens. Addressing fans at the start of the show, Owens-using his original ring name, Kevin Steen-expressed regret at being unable to attend the milestone event in person.
The video message served as a salute to the burgeoning promotion and its first championship tournament.Green Mountain wrestling’s inaugural champion will be crowned following a series of matches, marking a significant moment for the Vermont-based organization. Owens noted he’s been following the promotion’s growth with excitement and highlighted a subtle nod to his signature move incorporated into the design of the championship belt.
“Hello everyone, my name is Kevin Steen,” owens stated in the video. “You might know me from some wrestling shows I’ve been on or some wrestling matches I’ve had. But tonight’s not about me. Tonight is about crowning the very first champion in Green Mountain Wrestling history, which obviously makes tonight a very big show. I wish I could be there in person. I’ve been keeping up with Green Mountain Wrestling for a while now and seeing it grow and grow. It’s been pretty exciting. If I was there tonight, I’d be able to award that title to the first champion myself. Which, if you look at the title belt closely, there might be a certain wrestling move being executed on one of the side plates that has a little something to do with me. So it would have been an honor to be there, to do that.”
Green Mountain Wrestling shared the video on Twitter September 14, 2025, generating buzz around the event and the connection with the established WWE performer. The tournament will continue, culminating in the crowning of the promotion’s first-ever champion.
