Kevin Federline faces City National Bank lawsuit over credit debt

Kevin Federline faces City National Bank lawsuit over credit debt

October 30, 2026 Priya Shah – Business Editor Business

Kevin Federline owes at least $117,704 to City National Bank across a credit card, a line of credit, and an overdraft line, pagesix.com reported. The former backup dancer is facing a lawsuit over the debt after his child support payments from Britney Spears ended.

City National Bank Seeks Repayment of Credit Debts

According to court documents obtained by pagesix.com, Federline signed the agreement with City National Bank in late November 2024. That timeline coincided with the final child support payment landing in his account from the Toxic singer. The bank’s lawsuit claims Federline was given until August 2026 to pay off his credit card debt. Meanwhile, his personal line of credit was due in June 2025, and his personal overdraft line was due two months earlier in April.

City National Bank is seeking the principal balance alongside unpaid accrued interest. The bank is charging a 20.5% interest rate on the credit card, 7.5% on the line of credit, and 18% on the overdraft line. Federline’s attorney did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the litigation, pagesix.com reported.

Federline Details Child Support Payments in Memoir

During their two children’s upbringing in Hawaii, Federline initially received $40,000 a month in child support from Spears. After older son Sean Preston turned 18, the payments dropped to $20,000 and continued until younger son Jayden James graduated from high school. Federline claimed in his memoir, You Thought You Knew, that those monthly funds went toward security and maintaining a high standard of living, stating that expenses easily exceeded $40,000 a month.

Federline’s tell-all book hit shelves on October 21, 2025, with expectations of a major payday. Sales ultimately disappointed as the book failed to break into Amazon’s top 500 list. Within the memoir, Federline alleged that his ex-wife partook in cocaine use while breastfeeding and exhibited erratic behavior at home. Spears responded via Instagram, disputing the claims and calling the constant gaslighting extremely hurtful and exhausting.
