According to the Premier League, goalkeepers are crucial to defensive solidity, with a strong keeper often saving up to 10 goals per season (Premier League 2024).
Journey to Arsenal
In 2018, Kepa became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when he joined Chelsea. During his time there, he was part of squads that won the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and Club World Cup. He then spent the 2023/24 season on loan with Real Madrid.
Andrea Berta, the Sporting Director, shared, “We are really excited to have Kepa join our Arsenal family.” Mikel Arteta added: “We are really happy to have Kepa joining us. He brings a wealth of experience, which his teammates will benefit from, and he has a real hunger to win.”
Kepa will wear the number 13 shirt. Arsenal hopes his presence will significantly improve the team’s chances in future competitions.
