Kaskaskia College Urges Early Registration for Fall 2025 as Enrollment Surges
CENTRALIA, IL – Kaskaskia College (KC) is actively encouraging both new and returning students to secure their spots for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester, reporting a significant uptick in enrollment following a dip during the pandemic. The college is highlighting the critical importance of early registration, especially for sought-after general education courses that are known to fill up rapidly.
To enhance accessibility for students with busy schedules, KC will host its annual Saturday Registration Day on August 9th. This event will be available at the main campus in Centralia, as well as the Greenville, Vandalia, and Trenton Education Centers. While the Crisp Manufacturing and Trades Center will maintain its regular summer operating hours, it will not be part of the Saturday registration initiative.
Carrie Hancock, Student Outreach Coordinator, emphasized the straightforward and convenient registration process.”Students can register at any open KC location during the week, or they can attend our Saturday event,” Hancock stated. “We’ve seen students begin registering as early as March, and popular general education courses in subjects like math, English, social sciences, and psychology tend to fill up quickly. This is precisely why registering as soon as possible is so crucial. Moreover, students can apply for admission and have their processing completed within 24 hours.”
This fall, Kaskaskia College is set to launch four new certificate programs designed to equip students with skills for high-demand career fields. These new offerings include:
Precision Agriculture: This program will delve into cutting-edge technologies such as autosteering systems, drone operation, and yield monitoring. Manufacturing Technology: Providing foundational training in essential areas like industrial safety, manufacturing processes, and applied mathematics.
* Construction Scheduling and Construction Estimating: These specialized certificates will focus on critical aspects of construction management, including project planning, material cost calculations, timeline management, and logistical coordination for job sites.
“These certificates are designed to translate directly into tangible, real-world skills that significantly enhance student employability,” explained Staci Palm, KC Dean of Enrollment Services. “We’ve already observed a robust level of interest, particularly from students aspiring to careers in agriculture, manufacturing, and construction management.”
Students also have the option to register by sending an email to kcadmissions@kaskaskia.edu or by contacting the KC advising office directly at 618-545-3040.
