Maintaining a regular sleep schedule is also crucial, as the rainy season can disrupt sleep patterns. for those without beds, layering thick clothing on the sleeping surface provides insulation. Common ailments during Karkidakam include stiffness, weakness, and nervous system disturbances.

Existing health conditions can be exacerbated during the monsoon. Individuals with diabetes may experience increased nighttime urination, while men with prostate issues may find their symptoms worsening. Ensuring bedding, including bedcovers and pillowcases, remains dry and clean is vital, particularly for the elderly. Positioning cots away from windows minimizes exposure to drafts. Burning fragrant substances like Ashtagandam, sandalwood, or camphor can definitely help purify the indoor air.
