Kansas Elementary​ School Faces Complaint⁢ Over Alleged Censorship of Role Models

TOPEKA, KS – A formal complaint has been filed against Marshall ⁣Elementary School in Kansas, alleging that a school guidance counselor prohibited⁤ students from selecting Charlie Kirk,⁢ Donald trump, and even Jesus Christ⁢ as role⁢ models for a sixth-grade ‌assignment. The American Center for Law⁣ & Justice (ACLJ)‍ filed ⁤the complaint, citing concerns over religious and political discrimination, ⁣free speech ⁢violations, and parental rights [[3]].

The⁣ assignment, titled “Find Your Voice,” was part of the school’s “Leader ⁢In ⁢Me” program and asked students to identify ‍individuals they ⁣admired ⁣ [[2]]. According ⁢to the complaint,when one student named ‍Charlie Kirk as‍ a‌ role‍ model,the guidance counselor,Kacey Countryman,reportedly became ⁣“very uncomfortable” and refused to allow the name ⁣to be writen on the ⁤board,stating he was “not a ‍hero” [[3]].

A similar ⁤response occurred‍ when another student chose former President⁤ donald Trump. The counselor allegedly prohibited the selection, stating that students could not ⁢name political or ‌religious figures,⁣ and afterward excluded those​ topics altogether [[3]]. The ⁤ACLJ further alleges that ​when a student selected Jesus Christ, that choice was also rejected
