by Emma Walker – News Editor

Justin Bieber‘s surprise album, SWAG, has made a important impact on the Billboard charts for the week of July 26, securing the No. 1 spot on the Top Streaming Albums chart and propelling his track “Daisies” to the top of the Streaming Songs chart.

Released on July 11 with minimal prior announcement, SWAG garnered 155,000 streaming-equivalent album (SEA) units in the U.S. during the tracking week ending July 17. This figure, derived from Luminate data, translates to an extraordinary 198.77 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs, marking Bieber’s most successful streaming week for an album to date.

This achievement surpasses Bieber’s previous record set by his album Justice, which earned 119,000 SEA units in its opening week (ending March 25, 2021), with 157.02 million on-demand official streams.

On the Streaming Songs chart, “Daisies” marks Bieber’s seventh career No. 1, placing him in a tie with Kendrick Lamar for the third-most chart-toppers. Taylor Swift leads with nine No. 1s, followed by Drake with 21.

The SWAG album has also seen substantial representation on the Streaming Songs chart, with 11 of its tracks debuting on the 50-position list. These include “Daisies” (No. 1), “Yukon” (No. 7), “Go Baby” (No. 8), “All I Can Take” (No.10), “Way it is indeed” (featuring Gunna, No. 17), “Things You Do” (No. 20), “Walking Away” (No. 22), “Butterflies” (No. 27), “Devotion” (featuring Dijon, No. 40), “Sweet Spot” (featuring Sexyy Red, No. 41), and “First Place” (No. 46).

the Billboard Top streaming Albums chart measures the most-streamed albums in the U.S. weekly, with rankings determined by streaming-equivalent album (SEA) units. One SEA unit is equivalent to 3,750 ad-supported streams or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand streams of an album’s tracks. When an artist has multiple albums featuring the same song, SEA units are typically allocated to the album with the highest conventional album sales for that week.
