The ⁤owners of a‍ luxury villa in the​ var region ‍of ​France are pursuing legal‍ action seeking €106 million in compensation​ from those involved in the production and ‌distribution of rapper Jul’s hit song “Moulaga.” The claim,first reported by The⁣ Informed,stems‍ from the‍ use‌ of their property​ in ⁤the song’s music video,filmed five years ​after the song’s release.

The ​villa owners ​state they were​ unaware ⁤a music video⁢ shoot would take place during⁢ the rental period and that they did not consent to the commercial use​ of their⁣ property. they also‍ report experiencing a ⁣consistent influx⁣ of fans ‍and curious⁤ onlookers ‍visiting the villa as the ​video’s release.

The lawsuit targets Google France (owner of YouTube), Homelly -‍ the luxury ‍villa rental‌ platform through⁢ which the property was rented – and​ Noon Midi Production, ⁣the record ‍label​ behind “Moulaga.” The owners have demanded⁤ Google remove the⁤ “Moulaga” video from YouTube, threatening a‌ penalty⁣ of ⁣€100,000 per day of continued‍ publication.

An‌ initial legal attempt against Google France‌ was deemed “inadmissible” by the Toulon court, prompting the owners to ⁢launch a​ new legal procedure⁤ against Google Ireland,‍ the location of the company’s headquarters.This aspect of ⁤the case remains ongoing.
