This move represents a major step for JR Motorsports, co-owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr., as it aims to establish a foothold in the NASCAR Cup Series. Allgaier, a veteran Xfinity Series driver with 22 wins, will pilot the No.31 Chevrolet in the 66th running of the Daytona 500. The team will utilize a charter acquired from Spire Motorsports to guarantee a starting spot in the race.
