‘So You Think you Can Dance‘ Winner Joshua Allen Dies at 36
Joshua Allen, the champion of season four of the dance competition series So You Think You Can Dance in 2008, has died at the age of 36. Details surrounding his death are currently limited, with the Fort Worth Police Department investigating the tragic incident.
Allen rose to prominence as a hip-hop dancer on the show, ultimately defeating Stephen “tWitch” Boss in the finale. I’ve been trying to find the right words for days now and nothing seems to fit right to express the pain of losing you! NO WORDS will ever be enough to explain the LOVE I have for you Stephen.”
Beyond So You Think You Can Dance, Allen continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in films such as Step Up 3D (2010) and Footloose (2011), as well as television shows including American Horror Story and Undateable.
those who knew Allen remember him for his talent and character. “Joshua was a truly gifted dancer and actor, but more than that, he had an enormous heart. He inspired so many, gave back to others, and had a smile that could light up any room. I’m floored by this loss, and Joshua will be deeply missed,” saeid a statement from a colleague. Choreographer Emmanuel Hurd also shared his grief on instagram, calling Allen “a real King” and expressing comfort in knowing he was “with Stephen now.”
