Jordi Alba Announces Retirement from Professional Soccer After Current MLS Season
Fort Lauderdale, FL – Inter Miami CF announced today that Jordi Alba will retire from professional soccer at the conclusion of the current season, bringing an end to a distinguished career spanning nearly two decades. The MLS Playoffs will represent Alba’s final matches as a professional player, closing out two impactful seasons wiht Inter Miami.
Since joining Inter Miami in 2023, the spanish defender has been a pivotal figure for the club, demonstrating consistent performance through his experience, technical skill, and unwavering determination. To date, Alba has contributed 14 goals and 38 assists while with Inter Miami, playing a key role in the team’s recent successes, including winning the Leagues Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.
Widely regarded as one of the best left backs of his generation, Alba brought a proven track record of excellence to Miami, built upon his celebrated career with FC Barcelona and the Spanish National Team.He earned numerous titles and represented Spain with distinction throughout his international career.
