Jewelers donate necklace for drawing at annual cancer society telethon – Hazleton Standard Speaker

Hazleton, PA – A white gold diamond ⁢flower heart necklace, valued at $2,200, will be awarded to a lucky​ donor during the American ⁢Cancer Society of Greater Hazleton’s 47th Annual Telethon this Saturday, November 15. Antonia’s Jewelry and Repair, co-owned by Toni and ‍Rob Christman, generously donated‍ the .50 ct. total weight necklace as a pledge incentive.

The ​annual telethon⁣ is a critical fundraising event for the American Cancer Society,supporting vital research,patient services,and community outreach programs in the Greater Hazleton area. Pledges of $100 or ​more entered into a drawing will offer donors a chance to win the necklace, with the ⁣winner being selected at 9 p.m.⁤ Saturday.This year’s event aims to bolster ongoing efforts to combat cancer and provide support to those battling the disease and their families.

“We are so very grateful to the Christmans who have once ⁢again ‍taken extra care in choosing a special piece of jewelry to donate to the ACS Telethon,” said Jane Dougherty, telethon co-chair.

The Christmans’ donation is ⁢deeply personal, stemming from their own experiences with cancer. “It means ⁣a‌ lot to us to be able to make this donation …⁣ because my mother and⁢ Rob’s father passed⁣ away from cancer,” explained Toni Christman. “We certainly‍ know that it’s so very difficult ⁤to fight this disease, and we want to do⁣ what⁤ we can to ⁤help ⁤others engaged in this battle.”

Rob Christman added, “It really makes us feel great ⁤to be ‍able to do something to help an organization that helps people who have to deal with cancer on a daily basis.”

To make a pledge and for a chance to win the necklace,call 570-459-1212 between 11 a.m. ⁢and 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 15. Donations can also be made online at acsmove.org/hazletontelethon. Only one pledge per person for the necklace will be accepted, and the winner will be notified regarding pickup.
