Jeck and Carla announce separation after year-and-a-half partnership, says Soirmag
French pop duo Jeck and Carla have announced their separation after a collaboration lasting a year and a half, ending a partnership that produced the streaming hit “M’envoler,” Soirmag reported.
The Rise of “M’envoler” and the Album Oxygène
The musical pairing began in late 2023 after both artists crossed paths following separate appearances on the television franchise The Voice. Jeck competed on the adult version of the show in 2023, while Carla Lazzari appeared on The Voice Kids in 2018 before representing France at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2019. Toward the end of 2023, Jeck released the track “Parapluie,” and Carla released “J’en veux pas,” a song composed by Jeck. That collaboration solidified when they released “M’envoler” in late 2024. The track achieved rapid success across radio, streaming platforms, and YouTube, eventually surpassing 100 million plays. Capitalizing on that momentum, the pair released a duets album titled Oxygène. Jeck explained to NRJ that they chose a title featuring an X and a Y to represent a man and a woman.
Carla and Jeck End Professional Musical Pairing
Following the release of Oxygène, two additional tracks, “A qui le tour” and “La recette,” gained traction, with Carla regularly joining Jeck on stage to perform them. Despite public speculation regarding their personal relationship, the artists maintained that their dynamic was strictly a professional musical pairing and a close friendship. She stated that “M’envoler” arrived at a time when she needed it most and that Jeck helped her recover a part of herself she thought she had lost. After eighteen months of working together, the duo decided to part ways as each artist pivots back to individual careers. Carla is preparing a solo album and scheduled the release of a lead single for Friday. Acknowledging the partnership on Instagram, she wrote that she knows what she owes to the story and to the person who lived it by her side, but that the time has come to move forward alone. To mark the end of their joint musical journey, the two shared the stage one final time, coinciding with the release of Jeck’s new track, “Sans nous.”
