JBL Launches Cinema SB MK2 With Wireless SurroundPlay Technology
JBL launched its Cinema SB MK2 Bluetooth soundbar range on October 1, 2026, introducing SurroundPlay technology that allows compatible portable speakers to wirelessly transform into rear surround channels.
SurroundPlay Technology Integration
The new JBL Cinema SB MK2 series marks the first time JBL soundbars can connect wirelessly to compatible portable speakers to function as rear surrounds. Users can pair existing speakers, such as the JBL Flip 7, at the touch of a button.
Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio at HARMAN, explained the functional value of the release. That’s what innovation should do – bring the products people already love together to deliver more than the sum of their parts, with the performance our customers expect from JBL and at a price that makes sense for every home,
Olesen said.
New Soundbar Range Reduces Transport Volume
The four-model range features a redesigned U-shape structure that folds the soundbar and subwoofer into a more uniform package. This design choice reduces packed volume by up to 20 percent, lowering transport volume and decreasing the overall carbon footprint.
Leading the lineup is the SB595MK2, featuring 440W of power output, a wireless 6.5-inch subwoofer, and two upfiring drivers configured for True Dolby Atmos. The SB580MK2 matches the 440W output and 6.5-inch subwoofer specifications for room-filling sound.
Rounding out the series, the SB550MK2 delivers 360W of power with a wireless subwoofer. At the entry tier, the SB510MK2 provides 200W of balanced audio through an all-in-one design equipped with a built-in subwoofer.
The entire JBL Cinema SB MK2 range became available on JBL.com starting October 1, 2026.
