Alabama freshman gymnast Jasmine Cawley has been named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Cawley, a native of Clermont, Florida, achieved a career-high score of 9.925 on the balance beam during the Crimson Tide’s recent meet against Auburn on February 21, 2026. She also posted a 9.900 on floor exercise in that competition, contributing to Alabama’s season-high-matching team total of 197.950. This score marked the Crimson Tide’s first victory over Auburn at Neville Arena since 2018.

The freshman’s performance earned her a share of the beam title alongside teammate Kylee Kvamme. Cawley has now recorded three consecutive scores of 9.900 or higher on the beam, including performances both at home and on the road. During the seventh week of SEC competition, Cawley registered the highest beam score among all freshmen and tied for the highest floor score among rookies.

This marks Cawley’s first career SEC weekly honor. Alabama has already seen success this season with SEC weekly awards, as Azaraya Ra-Akbar was named Gymnast of the Week on January 20, and subsequently earned Freshman of the Week honors on February 17.

Alabama faced No. 1 Florida on February 26, 2026, at Neville Arena, following their victory over No. 18 Auburn. The Auburn meet took place just weeks after a narrow defeat to No. 1 Florida on January 16, 2026, where Cawley experienced a slip on her beam routine.
