Jaromír Hanzlík, the celebrated Czech actor known for roles in classics like “Strýc Pepin” and “Doktor Jandera,” is marking his 78th birthday amid personal grief and the revelation of a substantial, largely private fortune. The actor is mourning the recent death of Jana Brejchová, with whom he shared a twelve-year relationship.
Hanzlík publicly acknowledged Brejchová’s passing, stating, “Jana, our queen, remains in people’s hearts. Thank you for the wonderful twelve years we spent together. I will never forget her,” according to a report by Blesk.cz. Their relationship, which began even as both were navigating divorces from previous partners, was marked by both passion and disagreement. Reports suggest that Vlastimil Brodský, Brejchová’s then-husband, ultimately stepped aside in their relationship.
The end of their romance came during a three-month trip to the United States and Canada. Brejchová recounted a pivotal moment that signaled the relationship’s demise, recalling Hanzlík’s seemingly casual remark that prompted her to leave and join her brother in Boston.
Beyond his acting career, Hanzlík has quietly amassed a significant real estate portfolio. He owns properties in prestigious Prague locations including Řeznická Street, Masarykovo nábřeží, and Opatovická Street, where property values are substantial. He also owns a house in Nespeky, near Benešov, and land in Chocerady and Jinolice. The income generated from these rentals allows him the freedom to be selective about his acting roles, according to reports.
Despite his success, Hanzlík is currently living a more secluded life, accompanied by his dog, Nanynka. He has reportedly completed three screenplays, hoping for at least one to be produced, and continues to act selectively, as seen in his recent role in the series “Oktopus.”
