James Van Der Beek Auctions Dawson’s Creek Memorabilia for Cancer Charity

James Van Der Beek is auctioning off iconic ⁢items ​from Dawson’s Creek and Varsity Blues to benefit ⁣cancer research, including pieces from his character’s bedroom and wardrobe.

The​ actor is⁤ parting⁣ with personal memorabilia, including clothing worn on screen and props reflecting his character Dawson Leery‘s passion for filmmaking, through Propstore’s ​Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction on December 6 in London. The auction comes after Van Der Beek recently canceled a Dawson’s Creek reunion event due to‍ illness, and as he navigates “unexpected twists and turns life ‌has presented⁣ recently.” Proceeds will support cancer-related causes.

Van Der Beek’s collection includes the signature sweaters and jackets worn by his‍ character throughout the series,⁣ alongside a collection of props from Dawson’s ⁢bedroom – notably an Indiana Jones model kit and an E.T. doll, referencing⁣ the character’s admiration for director ‍Steven Spielberg. he is also offering ‌a pair of cleats and a hat he wore in the 1999 film Varsity Blues.

“I’ve been storing these treasures for years,waiting ‌for the ‍right time to do something with them,and with‍ all of the recent unexpected ⁣twists and turns life has presented recently,it’s clear that⁣ the time is now,” van⁣ Der Beek⁣ said in a statement.”While I have some​ nostalgia tugging at me as I part with these items, it feels good to be able to offer ​them ​through Propstore’s auction to share with⁤ those who have supported my work over the years.”

the auction, featuring over ​1,350 lots, also includes high-value items like Boba Fett’s​ blaster from The Empire Strikes Back, estimated to sell for over $1 million. Van Der Beek canceled a ⁢planned appearance at a Dawson’s Creek benefit event for F Cancer in ⁤September due to illness.
