Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James maddison was forced off the field due too injury during the team’s recent match, prompting concern from his coach and teammates.
The England international began the game on the bench but entered the field in the 75th minute.Eleven minutes later,he sustained an injury that necessitated his substitution.
tottenham expressed their support for Maddison on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “We are forced into a late switch. We all support you, Madderers.” The TV footage also captured coach Ange Postecoglou and teammate Son Heung-min displaying clear worry for the British player.
This latest injury adds to Maddison’s history of fitness issues since his transfer from leicester City in 2023. He has experienced three separate periods sidelined by various injuries during his tenure with Tottenham.
The match also marked the final appearance for Tottenham captain Son Heung-min, who is set to depart the club this summer after a decade-long tenure. Son confirmed his decision to leave during a press conference prior to Spurs’ training match against Newcastle.
Son was bid a fitting farewell by the fans, his teammates, and opponents alike.
