PlayStation will host a dedicated State of Play presentation on September 3, focusing exclusively on ”007 First Light,” teh first installment in a planned trilogy of James Bond games developed by IO Interactive.The broadcast will feature over 30 minutes of new gameplay footage, showcasing the opening mission as a newly recruited MI6 agent.
The presentation will offer a complete look at the action, including high-speed car chases, stealth sequences, and gunfights. Sony encourages viewers to stay tuned for IO Interactive’s insights into the game’s intense espionage experience. “State of Play presents a 007 First Light deep dive on September 3,” PlayStation announced via Twitter on September 1.This new Bond iteration represents a fresh start for the iconic character, unrelated to any existing book or film adaptation. While IO Interactive previously delivered the acclaimed hitman series,the studio is now committed to a new narrative arc for 007. Fans have speculated that actor Patrick Gibson, known for his role in Dexter: New Blood, will portray the new Bond, following a preview shown during a PlayStation State of Play in june.
Currently, “007 First Light” is slated for release sometime in 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. PlayStation has indicated that no other games will be featured in this State of Play, advising viewers to temper expectations regarding titles like ghost of Tsushima.
