Ivana Trump’s former New York City townhouse, a landmark of the Upper East Side known for its opulent and maximalist design, has been sold for $14 million, significantly less than its original $26.5 million listing price in 2022. The property, located at 10 East 64th Street, closed on March 3, 2026, according to property records.
The five-story, 8,725-square-foot mansion, built in 1879, was purchased by Ivana Trump in 1992 for approximately $2.5 million shortly after her divorce from Donald Trump. It remained her primary residence for three decades, during which time she extensively redesigned the former dental office with the help of designer George Gregorian, who had previously collaborated with her on the Plaza Hotel. The property also includes 700 square feet of outdoor space.
The townhouse, situated within the Upper East Side Historic District between Fifth and Madison Avenues, features a columned facade, a mansard roof and distinctive gold-and-black grilled doors. Inside, Trump created a lavish interior characterized by gold accents, animal prints, and grand chandeliers. A grand entry gallery boasts an Italian crystal chandelier and upholstered walls, although a curved, marble-carpeted staircase and a gated elevator provide access to all levels.
The home’s interior reflects Trump’s distinctive style. The dining room is entirely sheathed in gold fabric, offering two seating areas with views of a courtyard. The third floor library is adorned with leopard print wallpaper and further gold detailing. A doll displayed in one of the rooms was reportedly modeled after Ivanka Trump, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The primary suite, located on the same floor, features a softer color palette of light pinks and greens, a mural, and access to a private terrace through French doors. The ensuite bathroom is finished with pink Onyx marble, mirrors, and gold fixtures, including a double sink, soaking tub, and separate water closet. The townhouse also includes three additional bedrooms on the fourth floor and a guest room with a private bath on the top floor.
Additional amenities include a media room, a garden, a basement with a sauna, a laundry room, and ample storage space. The property’s long time on the market and eventual sale price reduction were attributed to the extensive renovations required to modernize the interior. Fashion designer Dennis Basso, a longtime associate of Ivana Trump, noted in 2023 that “no one is buying the place and not redoing it,” adding that “It may have been done by the best designer of its period, but nobody with this kind of money wants a 30-year-old bathroom.”
The proceeds from the sale will be split among Ivana Trump’s three children, Eric, Donald Jr., and Ivanka Trump, who spent their teenage years living in the townhouse. Adam Modlin of The Modlin Group and Roger Erickson of Douglas Elliman shared the co-exclusive listing.
