ITTF Launches Secure Channel for Reporting Misconduct in Table Tennis
LAUSANNE, Switzerland – The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) today announced the launch of a confidential reporting channel designed to bolster integrity across all levels of the sport.The new platform, powered by Whistleblower Software, provides a secure and accessible avenue for individuals to report suspected wrongdoing, ranging from corruption and competition manipulation to harassment and doping violations.
This initiative arrives at a critical juncture for global sports governance, where safeguarding fair play and ethical conduct is paramount.The ITTF’s move empowers players, coaches, officials, and othre stakeholders to proactively address issues that could threaten the credibility of table tennis. Reports can be submitted with or without revealing identifying information, and the system supports multiple languages – Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish – to maximize accessibility.
The reporting channel covers a broad spectrum of concerns, including corruption, fraud, and unethical behaviour within table tennis governance; competition manipulation like match-fixing and betting irregularities; harassment, abuse, and safeguarding issues aligned with ITTF’s safe sport policies; doping violations; intentional misrepresentation in Para table tennis classification; and any other breaches of ITTF Statutes or regulations.
All submissions will be handled with strict confidentiality, protected by both ITTF regulations and international whistleblowing laws. The ITTF encourages widespread awareness and utilization of this tool, emphasizing its importance in collectively protecting the sport’s integrity.
