Italy Grants €150M for Cloud & Cybersecurity Upgrades for Businesses

€150 million Voucher Program Launched⁤ to Boost SME & Self-Employed Digitalization

Teh Ministry of Business and Made in Italy (Mimit) has approved‌ a €150 million voucher program designed to support​ Small and ⁤Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed workers in ​adopting cloud ​computing and cybersecurity solutions. ⁢The initiative, signed ⁤by Minister Adolfo ⁢Ursus, follows market feedback gathered through public consultation.

The program offers financial⁤ contributions to businesses looking ⁣to renew their technological equipment, ‌provided it⁣ maintains a minimum download ⁣speed of 30 Mbps. Eligible expenses include the ⁢purchase or renewal of hardware or ‍ software related to cybersecurity (firewalls, secure ⁤routers/switches, antivirus software,​ data encryption, and more), cloud infrastructure services (storage, backup, databases), Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud services (accounting, HR, e-commerce software), and ancillary services like configuration and ongoing‍ support.

A notable portion of the funding – €71 million – ‌is earmarked for businesses ‌located in Abruzzo, Basilicata, ‌Calabria, Campania, Molise, puglia, Sardinia,⁣ and Sicily.

Businesses can acquire these services through‍ direct purchase (up to 12 months), subscription⁢ (up to 24 ​months), or ⁤a combination of both, with⁢ a minimum expenditure requirement of €4,000 to qualify for the benefit.

The program​ provides a non-repayable contribution of up to 50% of eligible expenses, capped ‌at a maximum of​ €20,000, and will be‌ disbursed in one or two installments. Services and products ⁢must be sourced from suppliers registered on​ a ⁢list maintained⁤ by mimit.

Supplier Registration: The ‌deadline for⁤ suppliers to ​apply for inclusion on the​ Mimit ⁢list is between 12:00 on⁢ March 4th, 2026 and 12:00 on April 23rd, 2026. Registration instructions are available⁣ on the Ministry website.

Mimit will evaluate applications based on a chronological order and will collaborate with ‍ Invitalia and ⁣ Infratel Italy ​in the process.The‍ list of approved suppliers and eligible services/products will be published⁣ within ⁣60 days of​ the registration window closing.

Further details regarding the ⁢application process for ‌SMEs and⁣ self-employed workers, ​and also disbursement procedures, ⁤will be outlined in a subsequent ministerial decree.
