Hungarian Actor István Vályi Details Financial Struggles & Family Life in New Interview
Budapest,Hungary – Celebrated Hungarian actor István Vályi recently revealed the difficult financial circumstances that drove him to leave his hometown and the ongoing complexities of co-parenting in a candid interview with 24.hu. Vályi, known for his roles in numerous Hungarian films and television series, described a period of intense economic hardship early in his career that ultimately shaped his life choices. The interview offers a rare glimpse into the personal sacrifices required to pursue artistic ambition and the challenges of maintaining family connections amidst professional demands.
Vályi explained his departure from his hometown wasn’t simply a matter of aspiration, but a necessity stemming from a desire to avoid financial dependence on his mother. He recounted a time in Bratislava where a 4400 crown salary barely covered basic expenses – 2200 crowns for shoes and the remainder for a suit – leaving him penniless by month’s end and contemplating a walk home rather of taking the bus. This financial strain, coupled with a “compulsion” to succeed, prompted a significant career shift.
The actor acknowledged the impact of his dedication to his work on his personal life, specifically his marriage. While now living separately from his children’s mother, Vályi emphasized his continued active role in their lives. He detailed frequent visits, often involving over a one-hour drive from his current residence, and regular shared activities. “If I have it, we organize programs or mumble something, socialize with my friends. We spent half the summer together, and now I have fun for the weekend. And even though I live for more than one -hour highway, I meet a lot on weekdays as I work in the capital,” Vályi stated, according to 24.hu.
