Sanaa, Yemen – Israeli airstrikes struck areas outside Sanaa, Yemen, overnight, impacting residential areas and prompting vows of continued attacks against Israel from Houthi rebels, residents and officials reported.
Ahmed al mekhlafy, a sanaa resident, stated his home was shaken and windows shattered by the force of the strikes. Another resident reported similar effects. The strikes represent the latest escalation in a conflict that has expanded beyond Gaza as October 2023.
Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Houthi media office, declared the strikes would not deter the group and affirmed their commitment to ongoing attacks targeting Israel. The Houthis, a Zaidi Shia Muslim group, control much of northern Yemen and have been engaged in a civil war since 2014.
