Israel Announces Limited Reopening of Rafah Border Crossing

The Rafah border crossing is a crucial entry point for humanitarian aid into the ⁤Gaza Strip. Its‍ reopening has long been demanded by the United Nations and the humanitarian community.

Israel announced Monday a “limited reopening” of the Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, as stipulated⁢ by the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10. “As part of the 20-point plan of President Trump, Israel⁢ has agreed to a limited reopening of the Rafah crossing, ‍reserved for pedestrians and subject to a⁣ full ⁢Israeli inspection mechanism,” the office of Israeli Prime Minister ⁤Benjamin Netanyahu ⁣wrote on the social network X.

The Rafah border crossing is a key point of entry for humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. Its reopening has long been demanded by the United Nations and the humanitarian community.
