iPhone 18 Pro Back Design to Address Color Shift Concerns, New Colors Planned
Apple is reportedly refining the design of the iPhone 18 pro and 18 Pro Max, focusing on addressing recent user reports of color changes and introducing a darker color palette. The company is considering “Burgundy,” “brown,” and “Purple” as potential new finishes for the 2025 models.
While some iPhone 17 Pro owners appreciate the current design, including the glass insert for MagSafe wireless charging, concerns have emerged regarding the potential for the Pro models to shift color-specifically towards orange or pink-when exposed to sunlight. Though Apple has not officially commented on the issue, and the authenticity of user-submitted images remains debated, the company appears to be proactively addressing the problem with darker color options. The glass insert, essential for MagSafe functionality, is expected to remain a feature.
Apple’s planned color shift comes as render images suggest a weaker contrast in the iPhone 17 Pro’s design (© 2025 Apple). The new colors are expected to launch with the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in 2025.
