International Congress of Pure Life Welfare Kicks Off wiht Focus on Functional Training & Holistic Health
L’Alfàs del Pi is hosting the International Congress of Pure Life Welfare, an event dedicated to promoting active, conscious, and healthy lifestyles. The congress commenced with an inaugural presentation by José Vidal, Director of the Congress and a renowned movement coach, titled “More than moving, living better. Functional training.”
Vidal emphasized the crucial role of exercise as a key tool for a full life, cautioning against both the dangers of a sedentary lifestyle and the risks of uncontrolled, excessive training. He highlighted the direct link between lack of movement and the development of disease and premature mortality, advocating for the seamless integration of physical activity into everyday life – encompassing activities like walking, dancing, and even household chores. Vidal suggested that approximately 60 minutes of exercise, adapted to individual life stages, can substantially impact overall health, stating, “Exercise is a medicine, but you have to know the optimal dose. If the dose is correct, not only adds, but multiplies.”
The congress program extends beyond functional training, encompassing a wide range of topics including nutrition, metabolic health, leadership, emotional management, menopause, and longevity, all approached from a practical and multidisciplinary outlook.
A diverse lineup of experts will contribute to the over 10 hours of training offered. Speakers include emotional coach Andrés Oller, who will discuss the importance of values in personal development; pharmaceutical and nutritionist María Casas, focusing on the power of healthy habits; and exercise physiology researcher Omar A. hernández-López, presenting the concept of fitness mitocondrial as foundational to metabolic health.
Further expertise will be provided by Luiz carnevalli (cell and molecular biology, leadership with purpose),Paloma Quintana (dietitian-nutritionist),Sonsoles Hernández Sánchez (physical exercise for kidney patients),and César Chávez (physical activity and health, active longevity).
Two round table discussions are also planned. The first, “Real transformation: exercise as an engine of change in adulthood,” will feature Pere Ripoll, Eliseo da Silva, Gloria Mera, and raúl Ríos, exploring the potential of sport as a social transformation agent. The second, “Woman, menopause and training in maturity,” will address female health challenges with contributions from María Braquehais, Mar Sánchez, José Luis Herreros, and Marcos García.
Marisa Cortés,Councilor of Health for L’Alfàs del Pi,expressed strong support for the congress, viewing it as a valuable prospect for citizens to learn, become motivated, and acquire practical tools for improving their health.
