Sarah Ferguson Reportedly Considering move to Portugal following Royal Lodge Departure
Melides, Portugal – Sarah, Duchess of York is reportedly exploring a move to a £3.6million oceanfront villa in Portugal owned by her daughter, Princess Eugenie, adn husband jack Brooksbank, following the loss of her home, the Royal Lodge. The potential relocation comes amid ongoing scrutiny related to her past association with Jeffrey Epstein and the subsequent loss of royal titles alongside her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
The property, located at the Costa Terra Golf and Ocean club resort in melides, approximately 82 miles south of Lisbon, was purchased by Eugenie and Brooksbank in May 2022. The couple currently divides their time between the Portuguese villa and their Ivy Cottage residence on the Kensington Palace grounds.
Sources indicate the resort’s “intimate, low density community” offers Sarah a degree of privacy as she navigates the fallout from a scandal stemming from a media interview where she criticised a “supreme freind,” later revealed to be linked to fears of a defamation lawsuit from Epstein.
the Costa Terra resort features a beach club, dining options, and activities including yoga, watersports, hiking, golf, and an equestrian centre – appealing to Sarah’s interests. The area is also attracting other high-profile residents, including Madonna and Oscar winner Alicia Vikander.
A US-based source familiar with the resort told Express.co.uk that the location is “a perfect place for Fergie to hide out while the Epstein affair continues to rumble on in Congress. She will be among family and friends and well away from the hostile atmosphere she’s facing in England.”
A neighbor on the estate stated,”The word here is that Fergie will be arriving sometime in January. How long she’ll stay is anyone’s guess but if it’s a long-term move, I can guarantee she’ll fit well into the social scene. Scores of celebrities and Hollywood stars have been snapping up properties in the area.”
prince Andrew is expected to move to a property on King Charles’ private Sandringham estate.
