Indonesia Seizes 2.6 Tons of Liquid Meth from Tanzanian Ship
Indonesian authorities have seized 2.6 tons of liquid methamphetamine from a Tanzania-flagged vessel, marking a significant interdiction in the country’s ongoing efforts to disrupt international drug trafficking routes. The operation, led by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), targeted the ship after identifying it was operating under a false identity.
## Operation and Vessel Interception
The BNN confirmed the seizure occurred as the agency intercepted the vessel, which had been utilizing a deceptive registration to evade detection while moving through Indonesian waters. According to reports from the agency, the cargo consisted of 2.6 tons of liquid methamphetamine, a high-volume shipment that authorities linked to transnational smuggling networks. The vessel, which was flying the Tanzanian flag, was brought under surveillance due to irregularities in its identification and manifest.
