Indonesia Prosecutor Office Reshuffle: 31 Heads of District Prosecutors Replaced

JAKARTA – A sweeping reshuffle of Indonesian prosecutors has been ordered by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, impacting 31 heads of district prosecution offices across the archipelago. The changes, formalized in Attorney General Decree Number KEP-IV-161/C/02/2026, were signed by the Deputy Attorney General for General Administration, Hendro Dewanto, on February 11, 2026, according to a statement from the Attorney General’s Office.

The personnel changes come amid ongoing internal investigations into several district attorneys, specifically those in Sampang, Magetan, and Padang Lawas. The reshuffle sees Mochamad Iqbal appointed as the new head of the Sampang district prosecution office, replacing Fadilah Helmi, who has been brought to Jakarta by a special task force for questioning. Sabrul Iman will lead the Magetan office, succeeding Dezi Septiapermana, also currently under internal review in the capital. Similarly, Soemarlin Halomoan Ritonga has been removed as head of the Padang Lawas district prosecution office and replaced by Hasbi Kurniawan.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, Ritonga, along with Ganda Nahot Manalu, the head of intelligence at the Padang Lawas district prosecution office, and Zul Irfan, an administrative staff member, are being investigated for alleged solicitation of funds from village funds. Further details regarding the status of that investigation have not been released.

The Attorney General’s Office confirmed the scope of the changes but has not yet disclosed the new assignments for Helmi, Septiapermana, or Ritonga.
