Former Antalya Police Chief Arrested in Bribery and Fraud Investigation
Antalya, Turkey – İlker Arslan, former Chief of Police for Antalya, has been arrested following a probe into allegations of bribery and fraud linked to the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. The arrest comes after Arslan was dismissed from his post by the Ministry of Interior,according to a statement released yesterday by the General Directorate of Security via its Nssocial account.
The antalya Chief Public prosecutor’s Office initiated the investigation, leading to Arslan’s detention on charges including acting as an intermediary in bribery, qualified fraud, and acquiring illicit property. Businessperson FA was also detained as part of the same investigation, facing accusations of bribery and qualified fraud. Following police operations,Arslan was formally arrested by a Magistrate Criminal Court,with FA also implicated in the court’s decision.
