Idaho Falls residents have a free opportunity to dispose of unwanted items next week during an end-of-season neighborhood clean-up event. The Idaho Falls Police Department’s Code Enforcement division is hosting the event to provide an additional resource for residents looking to clear out clutter before winter. From october 7th through the 10th, dumpsters will be available at the church parking lot located at 1235 Juniper Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Residents can utilize the dumpsters for household debris, construction materials, brush, and metal – all at no cost. Household, construction, and brush debris dumpsters are being provided by the Idaho Falls Sanitation division, while Millcreek Metal is generously supplying the metal dumpster.
This fall clean-up supplements the city-wide efforts Code Enforcement already undertakes each spring. All Idaho Falls residents are welcome to participate, not just those in the immediate neighborhood.
However, certain items are not accepted and require separate disposal. Hazardous waste like paint thinner, batteries, fertilizer, and antifreeze, as well as demolition materials, tires, and large appliances, must be taken to the Bonneville County Transfer Station or disposed of through appropriate channels. For a extensive list of accepted and prohibited items, and for facts regarding hazardous waste disposal, visit the Idaho Falls Police website at https://www.idahofallsidaho.gov/2038/Neighborhood-Clean-Up.
