Hyundai Engineering & Construction (HEC) has become the first builder in South Korea to integrate an artificial intelligence-powered sleep care solution into a residential complex, beginning with apartments in Songdo International City. The system, designed to optimize sleep environments for residents, was implemented in the Hillstate Songdo complex as of November 12, 2025.
The rollout addresses growing consumer demand for wellness-focused home technology and marks a meaningful step toward preventative healthcare within the built habitat. HEC anticipates expanding the AI sleep care solution to future projects, potentially impacting the quality of life for thousands of residents and setting a new standard for smart home integration in the construction industry. The technology aims to proactively address sleep disturbances, a common issue affecting productivity and overall health.
The AI sleep care solution analyzes various environmental factors within each apartment – including temperature, humidity, noise levels, and lighting – and automatically adjusts settings to create optimal sleep conditions. Residents can also personalize their sleep profiles through a dedicated mobile request, allowing the system to learn individual preferences and further refine its adjustments.
