Hyundai Capital Volleyball Team Gauges Readiness After Nagoya Training Camp
NAGOYA, JAPAN – Hyundai Capital Volleyball Team concluded its off-season training regimen in Nagoya, Japan, utilizing a series of friendly matches to assess team cohesion and identify areas for betterment ahead of the 2025-2026 V-League season. While acknowledging the results weren’t entirely satisfactory, Head Coach Blanc emphasized the value of integrating new players and refining tactical responses.
The training camp marked the first prospect for the team to operate at full strength, incorporating recently acquired outside hitters Huh Soo-bong, Apogit Shin Ho-jin, and Rivero Park Kyung-min – the latter joining after competing in the 2025 International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Championship. It also facilitated the first on-court collaboration between newcomers Shin Ho-jin and Bayarsaihan (Mongolia), allowing the coaching staff to evaluate their synergy within the Hyundai Capital system.
“I felt that the players who returned from the national team needed time to perfect their bodies,” Blanc stated. “through friendly matches, we need to improve our ability to cope with tactical serves and confirm how to adapt flexibly to the opponent’s play. it was a very good experience.”
Beyond core players, the camp provided valuable playing time for developing athletes like Song Won-geun, Son Chan-hong, and Lee seung-joon, allowing them to gain crucial experience. Captain Heo Soo-bong echoed blanc’s assessment, noting the team has pinpointed its weaknesses and requires additional time to solidify its performance. “I have identified what our team lacks,” Heo said. “It hasn’t been long since we worked together, so I focused on this part, but I think I need a little more time. I will prepare well for the rest of the season until the opening of the season.”
Hyundai Capital, aiming to overcome a history of falling short of championship integration, will open its 2025-2026 season on the 22nd against KB Insurance at Cheonan Yoo Gwan-soon gymnasium.
