The University of Physical Education has revitalized its initiative to immortalize the handprints of sporting legends, and Krisztina Egerszegi, the five-time Olympic champion, has once again contributed. She joins a distinguished group that includes János Becsey, a two-time Paralympic champion, four-time world and European champion swimmer; László Fábián, an Olympic champion; Dénes Kemény, a former national team coach and three-time Olympic champion; and a javelin thrower, further enriching the collection of sports icons.
A renewed Impression
Egerszegi had previously provided a handprint, but a fire that damaged part of the University of physical Education destroyed much of the wall containing the earlier imprints. This recent contribution marks a fresh start.

Reflecting on her return to the project, Egerszegi remarked on the passage of time: This time I had a bit bigger, because it was so long ago when I swam. I was more on land than in the water, it was a long time ago, so it’s strange to me that they are being asked for this.
