Six individuals were attacked by armed assailants on a football court in La Salado Vereda, resulting in four fatalities and two injuries. The perpetrators, described as a group of hitmen, reportedly opened fire without uttering a word before fleeing the scene, leaving no immediate trace of their whereabouts.

Colonel Carlos Eduardo Téllez, commander of the Huila Police, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the perpetrators consisted of approximately eight individuals who arrived in a truck and two motorcycles.
“The victims were gathered when they were surprised by an armed group, apparently composed of about eight people who mobilized in a truck and two motorcycles. After perpetrating the attack, they fled towards the populated center of Bethlehem,” colonel Téllez reported.
The region where the incident occurred is known to have a notable presence of FARC dissidents. Investigations are reportedly focusing on the Hernando González Acosta structure, allegedly led by a figure known as “Iván Mordisco,” which has been implicated in extortion and threats against the local population.
According to data from the Institute for Studies for Development and Peace (Indepaz), Colombia has experienced 40 massacres this year across various departments, including Valle del Cauca, Norte de Santander, Santander, Cauca, Antioquia, Bogotá, La Guajira, Atlántico, and Nariño.
In the Huila department specifically, police records indicate that 160 individuals have lost their lives due to violent incidents involving firearms, bladed weapons, and blunt objects in 2025.
