Huawei Watch D3: Medical-Grade Blood Pressure Monitor for the Wrist
The Wrist-Worn Sphygmomanometer Arrives in Dubai
Priced from 7,999 CZK on the Czech market, the Huawei Watch D3 was presented at the ISH-ECS 2026 conference in Dubai. The medical-grade wearable brings mechanical blood pressure monitoring directly to the wrist by utilizing an inflatable strap cuff, eliminating the need for calibration against a traditional upper-arm monitor through an internal pump and pressure sensor that reads systolic and diastolic values via the oscillometric method.
EU Certifies Huawei Watch D3 as Medical Device
The European Union has certified the Huawei Watch D3 as a medical device for single blood pressure measurements, all-day monitoring, and pre- or post-exercise readings, according to product documentation. Na konferenci Age of Care prezentoval MUDr. Luboš Kotík, a cardiologist and emeritus chief of the First Internal Clinic of Thomayer University Hospital, presented findings from his own comparative testing of the device against manual measurement methods.
Kotík noted that while traditional measurements rely on soft tissue over a single arm artery, wrist devices must handle two larger arteries near bone. Despite initial doubts about sufficient compression, he concluded that smartwatches can successfully provide patients with valuable blood pressure profiles to share with physicians, provided the data is interpreted correctly.
At the ISH-ECS 2026 sessions in Dubai—which ran from October 22 to 25—International Society for Hypertension Professor George Stergiou described the Watch D3 as a reliable tool for capturing blood pressure patterns, marking a broader clinical shift from treatment to proactive monitoring. Professor Wang Jiguang, chairman of the Chinese Hypertension Association, added that minimal ambulatory blood pressure monitoring features on devices like the Huawei Watch D3 can help shape automated blood pressure management in daily life.

Huawei Watch D3 Features Thinner Casing and Brighter Display
Marking the third generation of Huawei’s wrist sphygmomanometers, the Watch D3 reduces thickness by two millimeters compared to its predecessor. It measures 46,5 × 41 × 11,3 mm at its thinnest point and weighs approximately 40 grams. According to pctuning.cz, the aluminum alloy casing features a larger 1,92-inch display with a peak brightness doubled to 3,000 nits, alongside a lighter strap configuration.
Correct Cuff Size Ensures Accurate Blood Pressure Measurements
Users must select the correct cuff size from the two options included in the box—size M for wrists measuring 13 to 16 cm, and size L for wrists spanning 16,1 to 21 cm—because incorrect sizing compromises measurement accuracy.
While the casing features IP68 water resistance, Huawei explicitly advises removing the device before swimming, diving, hot showers, or saunas, and water damage in those conditions is excluded from warranty coverage.
