12 000 nites Tandem OLED kijelző és 200 MPixeles kamera, befutott a Huawei Mate 90 széria

Huawei Mate 90 Series: 12,000 Nits Display and Kirin 9050 Pro Chip

The Huawei Mate 90 smartphone series was introduced, featuring tandem OLED display technology and Kirin processors developed without Google support, iPon reported.

The new lineup spans three distinct models—the standard Mate 90, the Mate 90 Pro, and the Mate 90 Pro Max—offering varying screen dimensions and optical configurations. The series three models consist of top-tier LTPO AMOLED panels manufactured by BOE, according to Techworld.

Mate 90 Series Features High Brightness OLED Panels

The Mate 90 features a 6.75-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 1280 × 2832 pixel resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, allowing for dynamic refresh rate adjustments, alongside a pixel density of 460 PPI, according to iPon and Techworld. Meanwhile, the Mate 90 Pro and Mate 90 Pro Max incorporate dual-layer tandem LTPO OLED panels manufactured by BOE, according to Techworld.

While iPon notes the displays are engineered to maintain readability under direct sunlight, Techworld reports that these panels achieve a peak brightness of up to 12,000 nits. Techworld.hu adds that this tandem configuration utilizes multiple emissive layers stacked on top of each other to enhance luminous efficiency and longevity, though the exact measurement conditions for the maximum brightness figure remain a subject for industry observation. All three models are protected by Huawei’s Kunlun Glass 3.

Kirin Processors Use New LogicFolding Design

Performance capabilities differ across the trio. Huawei continues to work without Google support and other American development, resulting in performance that is unable to compete with other manufacturers’ flagship products, iPon reported. The Mate 90 Pro uses the Kirin 9035, while the Mate 90 continues with the Kirin 9030 from the Mate 80 Pro, according to iPon.

The Mate 90 Pro Max utilizes the new Kirin 9050 Pro processor. A teardown and analysis by Geekerwan, cited by notebookcheck-hu.com, revealed that the Kirin 9050 Pro employs a “LogicFolding” design reminiscent of AMD’s 3D V-Cache, connecting two stacked dies via a hybrid copper-to-copper bond. According to notebookcheck-hu.com, the primary compute die is manufactured using SMIC’s N+3 node, while the secondary die handling cache and I/O utilizes an N+2 node. In gaming tests, Geekerwan noted that the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max outperforms certain phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in Genshin Impact, trailing only slightly behind devices running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and the Apple A19 Pro, though games operating through translation layers like Arknights: Endfield run less efficiently with lower frame rates.

Cameras Feature 50 Megapixel Sensors with Adjustable Apertures

Imaging hardware varies across the lineup, featuring 50-megapixel RYYB primary sensors with adjustable apertures ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, laser autofocus, and the third-generation Red Maple color sensor, according to iPon. The Mate 90 Pro Max’s 50-megapixel primary camera offers 18 stops of dynamic range. Additional recording features include 4K video capabilities, 240 FPS slow-motion capture, and advanced EIS stabilization alongside a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with 3D ToF support and autofocus.

The Mate 90 utilizes a 4x zoom optic with a 50-megapixel sensor, while the Mate 90 Pro features a 4x periscope telephoto lens with telemacro capabilities. The Mate 90 Pro Max employs a 200-megapixel sensor with a 1/1.28-inch optical format to deliver a 16x lossless zoom. All three models share a 40-megapixel ultrawide RYYB camera that doubles as a macro lens.

The Mate 90 devices sport a dual-tone rear design featuring differing colors, materials, and textures across the lineup, complete with an engraved XMAGE optical brand logo in the center. Connectivity features guaranteed across the Mate 90 series include Wi-Fi 7, a Bluetooth 6.0 module, an NFC chip, a multi-band A-GPS receiver, and an infrared port alongside 5G, optional satellite communication, and eSIM for triple-SIM functionality.

For photography enthusiasts, Huawei introduced an optional modular accessory named the Z10, HWSW reported. Citing details alongside The Verge, HWSW noted that the Z10 attaches to the phone’s camera island and features its own 1-inch, 50-megapixel RYYB sensor paired with a zoom lens ranging from 24 mm to 240 mm at f/2.0-f/4.5. The accessory draws power and processing capability directly from the host smartphone and adds 346 grams to the device weight, according to HWSW. Huawei offers the Z10 for 5,999 Chinese yuan, translating to roughly 290,000 Hungarian forints.

Mate 90 Series Launches in China with AI Support

Notebookcheck-hu.com notes that the 16 GB RAM variants support on-device Mixture-of-Experts AI models with multiple parameters for offline photo sorting and assistant functions.

The Huawei Mate 90 series launches immediately in China. The base Mate 90 (12GB/256GB) starts at 6,000 yuan (körülbelül 293 ezer forint), the Mate 90 Pro (12GB/256GB) is priced at 7,000 yuan (körülbelül 342 ezer forint), and the Mate 90 Pro Max (12GB/512GB) begins at 9,500 yuan (körülbelül 464 ezer forint), iPon reported.
