Pennel-Price had initially explored customary holiday options but found that a week-long foreign vacation for her family would likely cost around £3,000. the house-sitting opportunity, secured through the website HouseSit Match, offers her family the chance to stay in a property featuring a sauna, swimming pool, and private woodland, in exchange for caring for two Yorkshire terriers.
She estimates the total cost for their two-week getaway to be approximately £250. “We mostly plan to just stay there,” Pennel-Price commented, highlighting the appeal of a local, yet luxurious, break. She further explained their preference for house sitting, stating, “We love both abroad and UK holidays, but we don’t like to leave our dog. and with the two babies, abroad is a little harder.” This approach allows the family to enjoy a change of scenery and new experiences while keeping their beloved pet close and managing the logistics of traveling with infants.
