Pardubice Goalie Frodl to Auction Unique Gaming-Inspired Mask for Charity
Pardubice hockey goalkeeper Jan Frodl will auction a specially designed mask inspired by the video game world to benefit a newly established endowment fund linked to his charity initiative, Project Frodo. The mask, created by designer Roman Vítek, features a design influenced by “Ghost of Yotei” and represents a rare foray into Japanese themes for hockey mask artistry.
frodl, 29, explained the connection to gaming stems from a personal passion, though time for play has diminished since the birth of his twins. The auction aims to raise funds to improve the lives of those supported by Project Frodo, with every crown (czech currency) raised going directly to the endowment fund.
“Japanese themes are not quiet common with hockey masks, I draw it once a year. But this is definitely extraordinary both its appearance and special purpose,” said Vítek, the mask’s designer and airbrusher. The mask was worn for a single game and will now be available to the public through auction.
Frodl added, “So I look forward that we will be able to improve their lives a little bit with fans of this game.”
