Hideki Kamiya Teases Potential Return to Devil May Cry
Game director Hideki Kamiya has sparked fresh speculation regarding a potential return to the Devil May Cry franchise after discussing the influential action series on his official YouTube channel.
According to IGN Portugal, Kamiya addressed the possibility of revisiting his creation during a video segment discussing iconic video game properties. The game creator, who directed the original 2001 release of Devil May Cry before leaving Capcom, noted that fans frequently ask about a possible comeback to the series.
Kamiya left PlatinumGames in October 2023 following a lengthy career that included directing Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and Bayonetta. While discussing his history with Capcom’s demon-hunting franchise, the director indicated that any potential involvement would depend heavily on decisions made by Capcom, the rights holder for the intellectual property.
Capcom has not announced any new entries in the Devil May Cry series or confirmed discussions with external developers regarding future installments.
