Disco Berlin & Detroit House Dominate FAZEmag‘s November 2025 Records of the Month
Berlin/detroit – November 2025 – A vibrant compilation celebrating nearly three decades of Berlin’s disco scene and a new Detroit house EP lead FAZEmag’s selections for Records of the Month in its November 2025 issue.
The Disco Berlin 1996 – 2025 (Eclipser Chaser / Matter Of Fact) compilation showcases label protagonists, described by the magazine as upholding the wisdom that “You have to have a little fun, that’s what disco is all about.” Standout tracks include Skinny Norris’ “Estimulo Edit” with Jamiroquai influences, and Daniel Paul, Stenger & Phazer’s “uwi Cutie Is Running Away” utilizing the iconic sample from Roy Ayers’ “Running Away.” Daniel & Stenger’s “Music Is For The heart” is lauded for its KC & The Sunshine Band inspiration and “bouncing piano,” while Bass Cap’s “Pit Stop” (CabRioLet mix) provides a “successful finale.” FAZEmag calls the release “sensational,” noting its ability to sound both old school and modern.
Also highlighted is Codewise (Soiree / Deejay.de), curated by Detroit activist Derrick Thompson. The EP features Drivetrain’s “Rachel,” described as “positively annoying with an alarm loop and a frightening atmosphere,” Blaktony’s “Option Homework,” a “formidable deep houser,” and Bjika’s ambient “House On The Hill.” The magazine characterizes the EP as “very strong” with “underground appeal,” featuring “sparkling, acid-textured house with ambient surfaces and a busy groove.”
Both releases receive a rating of 10/10 (Disco Berlin) and 9/10 (Codewise) from FAZEmag’s Cars10.Becker.
