Heidelberg Stroke Network to Offer Information and Support on World stroke day
Heidelberg,Germany – the Heidelberg Stroke network will host an information and action stand on World Stroke Day,october 29th,2025,from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at anatoma species, Hauptstraße 49, in Heidelberg’s Old Town. The event aims to raise awareness about stroke, provide support to those affected and their families, and highlight available resources in the Rhein-Neckar region.
Specialists from various fields – including self-help groups, rehabilitation services, orthopedic technology, social work, care services, health promotion, and therapy – will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions regarding stroke prevention, treatment, and aftercare.
Throughout the day, a short film will be shown, providing clear and accessible information about stroke symptoms, diagnosis, treatment options, and life after rehabilitation.
Interactive sessions will be held at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m., offering 15-minute memory training exercises designed to be both fun and beneficial.Attendees can also test their knowledge wiht a “wheel of fortune” featuring simple stroke-related quiz questions, with small prizes available.
The Heidelberg Stroke Network, comprised of clinics, doctors, therapists, nursing services, and other support organizations, has been working for over 20 years to improve the quality of life for stroke patients and their relatives in the Rhein-Neckar region. The network facilitates regular exchange, enhances rehabilitation opportunities, and connects individuals with relevant self-help groups.
According to the German Stroke Aid, approximately 270,000 peopel in Germany experience a stroke each year, and many are unaware of their risk factors. Studies suggest that a important number of strokes could be prevented through proactive risk factor assessment and treatment.
