HC Ajoie Beats Rapperswil 4-2 Before International Break
HC Ajoie broke a three-game losing skid by defeating Rapperswil 4-2 in National League play just before the international break, rfj.ch reported. The victory lifts the team two spots in the standings to ninth place, placing them three points out of the top six after 19 games.
Special Teams and Finnish Stars Deliver the Win
The match stood tied at 2-2 entering the final period, with both squads locked at three penalties apiece. Ajoie capitalized on opponent indiscipline during the third frame, converting a five-on-three advantage when captain Anttoni Honka scored at the 50-minute mark. Kristian Tanus later sealed the 4-2 final score with an empty-net goal, finishing the night with one goal and three assists.
Both Finnish players are set to leave HC Ajoie at the end of the season, but their performance in Rapperswil demonstrated their ongoing commitment to the squad. “Our objective was to give everything on the ice, without worrying about the result. I think we deserved this victory,” Tanus told rfj.ch.
Tanus also addressed his decision not to extend his contract in the Jura region, declining to share specifics. “In life, you sometimes have to take difficult decisions. I take a huge amount of pleasure this year. I love being here and I’m enjoying it fully,” he said.

The win gives Ajoie a six- and seven-point cushion over the bottom two teams in the league hierarchy as the club heads into the November international break.
