by Emma Walker – News Editor

A man in his 20s sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting on Sargeant Street in Hartford, Connecticut, on Sunday afternoon, according to Hartford police.

Officers responded to the scene in the 200 block of Sargeant Street, police stated. Details regarding the circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately released. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The Hartford Police Department is investigating the incident, and detectives are actively gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. No arrests have been announced as of Monday morning.

This shooting occurred as the Hartford Police Department is similarly investigating a separate incident where a man was fatally shot by an officer after reportedly displaying a knife. That incident, which took place earlier on Sunday, involved a confrontation where police say the man pulled a knife, leading to the officer-involved shooting. Police have not released the name of the man killed in that incident.

Authorities have not indicated any connection between the Sargeant Street shooting and the officer-involved shooting. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
