Harry Kane Extends FC Bayern Contract Until 2029
Harry Kane has extended his contract with FC Bayern München until 2029, securing the England captain’s future at the German club and making him the highest-paid footballer in Europe by base salary, according to The Athletic.
The forward originally joined Bayern in the summer of 2023 from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of nearly 100 million euros. His prior deal was set to run until the summer of 2027. Following months of negotiations described by sport.sky.de as proceeding entirely on schedule, the 33-year-old signed a two-year extension on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The 33-year-old was recently honored with the Ballon d’Or.
Long-Term Commitment After Months of Negotiations
Discussions between club executives and the player led to the official announcement after intensive talks over preceding weeks. Sport.sky.de noted that Sky Sport had initially reported on the impending breakthrough on October 5, 2026. The Munich club thus sent a signal to wealthy European competitors.
Club president Herbert Hainer highlighted the player’s trajectory since his arrival in Munich. “From a big transfer, it has become a special piece of FC Bayern history,” Hainer stated. “Harry Kane delivers on every promise that exists in football, and he has secured his place in the hearts of the fans as one of the greatest personalities of the sport of our time.” Hainer also offered a compliment to Jan-Christian Dreesen and the sports management.
Financial Terms and Standing in European Football
While t-online cited information from the US portal The Athletic indicating that the extension pushes Kane’s base salary to record levels for European football, club officials focused on other aspects.
Since arriving in Germany, Kane has accumulated 156 goals and 42 assists across 161 competitive appearances for Bayern. His collection of honors with the club includes two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal victory, two Supercup wins, and three consecutive Bundesliga top-scorer cannons, alongside the 35th club championship secured in 2026.

Unfinished Ambitions Under Vincent Kompany
Kane expressed his contentment with life in Bavaria alongside his family, pointing to the leadership of head coach Vincent Kompany and the strength of the squad. “I feel at home at FC Bayern: I love the club, the fans, the city of Munich – we have a fantastic team and in Vincent Kompany a fantastic coach,” Kane told club media. “It makes me very proud to be part of this club.” He added that his whole family is very happy there, that he wanted to stay, is looking forward to the future, and wants to win many more titles with this great club.
Despite securing domestic trophies and individual accolades, the England captain retains one major competitive objective with the Munich side: winning the UEFA Champions League.
